Sustainable Technologies (Undergraduate Certificate)
This undergraduate certificate is awarded by Purdue University at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Courses leading to the certificate are offered entirely online.
In the United States, sustainability has gained importance in business, industry, government, government agencies, higher education, and in the general public's consciousness. As a result, the need to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to make contributions to sustainability initiatives has never been greater.
The Sustainable Technologies Certificate benefits students who want to acquire knowledge in areas of renewable energies, green building, and sustainable design, and who may want to pursue a career in a sustainable technology.
As a student in the program, you complete 18 credit hours of undergraduate course work. You must successfully complete all of the following required core courses:
- Introduction to Sustainable Principles and Practices
- Renewable Energy Technologies
- Introduction to Green Building Technologies or Green Building: Information Modeling
- Energy Efficiency and Auditing
- Emerging Green Techologies
