Technical Communication (Undergraduate Certificate)

Technical communication is the process of gathering scientific, mechanical, chemical, legal, economic, medical, procedural, or other specialized information and presenting it to a targeted audience in a clear, useful, accurate, comprehensive, grammatically correct, and easily understandable form.
As a student in the Technical Communication Certificate program, you complete 6 hours of technical or scientific courses, including an introductory computer course. In addition, you take 13 credit hours of course in in five areas:
- introduction to technical communication
- visual technical communication
- advanced applications of technical communication
- career development
When you complete the certificate, you will have the core knowledge, skills, and professional practices needed to become an entry-level technical communicator.
