Composition Studies (Graduate Certificate)
Composition studies is the theory and practice of writing instruction, especially as it is practiced in composition courses at the high school and university levels.
The Certificate in Composition Studies offers graduate-level education in composition studies for those who teach English at the high school of post-secondary level or for those who want to teach writing at the community college or university level but do not hold an M.A. in English.
As a student in the program, you complete 20 hours of course work. Course topics cover stylistics, issues in teaching writing, teaching college writing, advanced argumentative writing, and rhetoric and composition.
