Master of Health Administration

The IU Online Master of Health Administration is designed for working healthcare professionals who want to advance their career. This degree prepares students for greater organizational responsibilities and leadership roles.

As a student in the program, you develop business skills, build your network, gain advanced knowledge of the dynamic healthcare environment, and apply what you learn to your current work environment. You will complete projects for healthcare organizations, and learn alongside other working professionals.

Degree Requirements  

To earn the Master of Health Administration, you must complete 51 credit hours. Note that you are required to complete PBHL-H 514: Health Economics in person at IUPUI.

Requirements are broken down as follows:

  • Health Administration core courses (48 credits)
  • Practical experience courses (3 credits) 

Depending on your prior experience, you may qualify for life credit in lieu of up to 9 credit hours of coursework, including the practical experience course. 

Admissions

To be accepted to this program, you must have:
  1. A bachelor's degree

  2. 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
  3. At least three to five years of healthcare-related work experience (in a clinical or non-clinical position)
  4. A current, full-time position in healthcare
NOTE: This program is authorized, exempt, or not subject to state regulatory compliance and may enroll students from all 50 states
