Global Health and Sustainable Development, MS

Master of Science

The Master of Science in Global Health and Sustainable Development prepares you to be a leader in identifying risks to human health and the environment and developing strategies for prevention. This unique degree is based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Students who complete this program will acquire graduate-level knowledge in approaching today's global health issues, including urbanization, climate change, infectious disease epidemics, and the safety of workers. 

 Focus areas include: 

  • Fundamentals of sustainable development and health 
  • Poverty, decent work, and inequality 
  • Food, water, and sanitation 
  • Sustainable production and consumption 
  • Resilient cities and communities 
  • Preservation and restoration of land and sea

Degree Requirements 

To earn the MS in Global Health and Sustainable Development, you must complete 30 credit hours. Requirements are broken down as follows:

  • Core courses (12 credit hours) 
  • Global health and sustainable development courses (18 credit hours)

Admissions

To be accepted to this program, you must have:
  1. A bachelor's degree

  2. 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
  3. Minimum of one year of undergraduate mathematics courses
