Degree Overview

The Master of Public Health in Environmental Health from IU Online is a flexible program in where you’ll study climate change, food safety, hazardous waste management, worker health and safety, and disaster management.

Develop skills for analyzing how susceptible populations given their environmental exposures and conditions. And you’ll seek to identify, minimize, and prevent the adverse impacts of environmental hazards to human health.

To be accepted to this program, you must have:

  1. A bachelor’s degree
  2. 2.8 GPA or higher

"Environmental health specialist" is a general term for someone who inspects environmental health systems to ensure they comply with local, state, and federal regulations. These regulations are set by the government to keep citizens safe and healthy. Responsibilities often include:

To earn the M.P.H. in Environmental Health, you must complete 44 credit hours. Requirements are broken down as follows:
