Transferring credit to an IU Online degree program
You may be able to transfer previous coursework to an IU Online degree program and/or receive credit for experiences you've had.
Previously completed coursework is reviewed when you apply. The school or department that houses your major decides how that credit applies to your degree requirements. Up to 64 credit hours from a community college or 90 credit hours from a four-year university can be transferred to an IU degree program.

Getting Started:
- Visit Pathways.iu.edu.
- Click Transfer from the menu on the left.
- Click Home Campus and choose the IU campus you're interested in attending. Not sure which campus to select? Visit your program's webpage to see which IU campuses offer your degree.
- Select the Institution tab and choose your current or previous college or university.
- Enter the course abbreviation and course number for a class you've completed (or plan to take).
- Instantly see how your credits may transfer.
