Master of Science in Nursing

As a student in the IU Online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nursing Education, you study to become a driving force in the improvement of patient care and nurse training. You learn to develop educational programs that engage your students, and you adopt practices to mentor nurse professionals in training.

This program prepares you to be a nurse educator in schools of nursing, from the local community college to the undergraduate level at a major university. This degree may prepare you for a career in workforce development and patient education at hospitals, medical centers, and other healthcare facilities.

Degree Requirements

To earn the MSN in Nursing Education, you must complete 42 credit hours, plus 225 clinical hours.

Admissions

To be accepted to this program, you must have:
  1. 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale
  2. BSN from a CNEA, CCNE, or ACEN accredited program
  3. Current, unencumbered RN license issued by a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the 4 U.S. territories

NOTE: This program is authorized, exempt, or not subject to state regulatory compliance and may enroll students from all 50 states
