The IU Online Graduate Certificate in Philanthropic Fundraising focuses on the latest research on philanthropy, and develops students' knowledge and skills in fundraising.

The certificate introduces the critical issues and values of philanthropic practices and can serve as a stepping-stone to a master's degree in philanthropic studies. It prepares students for such careers as:

Certificate Requirements 

To earn the Graduate Certificate in Philanthropic Fundraising, you must complete 15 credit hours.

Requirements are broken down as follows:

  • Philanthropic studies core courses (12 credit hours)
  • Philanthropic studies elective course (3 credit hours) 
NOTE: If you choose to pursue the IU Online MA in Philanthropic Studies, these certificate courses may apply to your degree requirements. Completion of the certificate program does not guarantee admission to the graduate program.
