As a student in this program, you take courses in safety education and training strategies, safety management in business and industry, risk assessment, and safety and health program design. You learn to facilitate the delivery of effective safety education and training, use analytical methods to determine and manage risk, and evaluate and control workplace hazards. In addition, a large focus will be placed on developing, implementing, and evaluating safety and health programs.

Certificate Requirements
To earn the Graduate Certificate in Safety Management, you must complete 12 credit hours in safety management core courses.
NOTE: If you choose to pursue the IU Online MS in Applied Health Science in Safety Management, these certificate courses may apply to your degree requirements. Completion of the certificate program does not guarantee admission to the graduate program.
